Alcmund(2)
Alcmund, martyr of Northumbria, was the son of King Alchred (765–74). He was killed c.800 and King Eardwulf (796–c.805) was held responsible. Miracles were reported at Alcmund's tomb at Lilleshall; his body was later translated to Derby. Several churches were dedicated to him in Derbyshire and Shropshire. Feast: 19 March.
