This Selig comedy begins as a burly alderman strong-arms his constituents into attending a municipal picnic. The alderman makes certain that most of his guests are of the "attractive female" variety, much to the disgust of his bargelike wife. Getting even for past political outrages, the male picnickers arrange to humiliate the alderman in full view of the ladies. The film ends as the much-bethumped alderman lies at home under a doctor's care, while his wife awaits his recovery in order to heap on even more abuse. All in all, the film offered nothing new, but it paid its way. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
