This is an author's album. Aldir Blanc, basically a lyricist but also a composer, and Maurício Tapajós, basically a composer but also a lyricist, recorded this album to show who are behind so much success in the hits, recorded by so many interpreters: "Querelas Do Brasil" (Elis Regina, for example), "Entre O Torresmo E A Moela" (João Nogueira, for example), "Colcha de Retalhos," and others. In the first team of Carioca samba composers, they invited the best musicians of the sector to accompany them here, resulting in a perfect samba album, truly Carioca. If their vocal possibilities aren't stupendous, they are properly intonated, and have the handy support of excellent singers Cristina Santos and Marília Barbosa. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
