English architect. Partner of R. L. Roumieu, he designed the curiously sinister Milner Square, Islington (c.1840), in a stripped, vaguely Classical style. His son, Hugh Roumieu Gough (1843–1904), designed St Paul's, Hammersmith, London (1882–7—with J. P. Seddon), and, his masterpiece, the Gothic Revival St Cuthbert's, Phil-beach Gardens, Kensington, London (1884–8).
