Plot

Red Buttons stars in this TV comedy drama as Alexander, a retired circus clown. The kids in Alexander's neighborhood love the old fellow because he is always friendly, always fun, and chock-full of exciting and amusing "tall tales." Ultimately, the youngsters (among them an 11-year-old Jodie Foster) get to prove their devotion to Alexander by saving his rundown home from being condemned.
