Canadian actor Alexander Gaden had appeared in stock throughout Canada and the U.S., "playing over 500 parts," prior to entering films with Famous Player in 1913. He became a star with the American arm of the French Gaumont company, headlining such melodramas as The Unbroken Road (1915), in which he forces his ward into a favorable marriage and The Drifter (1916), as a divinity student saved from disgrace by the love of an innocent girl. Busy during World War I, Gaden only appeared sporadically in films thereafter. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
