Alexandre Marine (Russian: Александр Валентинович Марин; born September 30, 1958[1] in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia[2]) is a Russian-born actor-director-playwright currently based in Montreal.[3] On April 23, 1993 he was recognized by the Russian government as a Distinguished Artist of the Russian Federation.[4]
His award-winning productions include "The Blue Rose" (Special Jury Prize at Amurskaya Osen' in Blagoveshensk),[5]"...the itsy bitsy spider..." (Best of Baltimore, 2010),[6] "Marie Stuart" (Best Montreal production, 2007-2008 season)[7] and "Amadeus" (Best English-language production, 2006-2007 season)[8]
Apart from his career as a stage actor and stage director, he has appeared in several Russian films.[9]

Marine began his career as an actor at Oleg Tabakov's theatre (commonly known as the Tabakerka), where he had his directorial debut, later becoming a staff director at the theatre.[10]
