Alexei Smirnov (born January 28, 1982 in Tver, U.S.S.R.) is a Russian professional ice hockey player. He is a centerman for the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL.
Playing career
Smirnov was drafted 12th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He played 52 games for the Mighty Ducks. He spent the 2006-07 season with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL and signed with the Wheeling Nailers for the 2007-08 season. [1]
