Alexis Petridis is a British journalist, head rock and pop critic for UK newspaper The Guardian, as well as a regular and contributor to the magazine GQ.[1]. In addition to his music writing for the paper he has written a weekly column in the fashion section of The Guardian's Weekend section, as well as contributing to it's 'Lost in Showbiz' column.
Petridis began his career writing for Varsity whilst a student at the University of Cambridge. He was the final editor of now defunct music magazine Select.
He has won the "Record Reviews Writer of the Year" category at the Record of the Day awards seven times, from 2005 to 2011, as well as winning "Artist and Music Features: Writer of the year " in 2006.[2][3]
