Mobile Interim Company 1 (MIC1) MIC 1 is the company that manages the alfa network on behalf of the Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT) in the Republic Of Lebanon (RoL). alfa is the brand name of the network owned by MIC1 S.A.L.[1] As of February 2009, alfa has been managed by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH). Alfa recently introduced the blackberry service that allows the blackberry user to have unlimited access to the internet. Alfa offers 3 packages for users: active, classic, and business, each with its own facilities that all of the user's demands. The Alfa active prices are 0.36 $ for every minute of local calls and 0.09 $ for every local message and 0.18 $ for every international message. As of 2011, Alfa and mtc touch, the two mobile operators in Lebanon, charge to customers among the highest rates in the world.
