Alfred (J. Strauss II: Die Fledermaus). Tenor. Singing-teacher of Rosalinde, wife of Gabriel von Eisenstein. While her husband is serving a brief prison sentence, Alfred takes advantage to spend the evening with Rosalinde. Found in the house by the prison governor, Frank, he is assumed to be Rosalinde's husband and is escorted to gaol. Aria: Trinke, Liebchen, trinke schnell! (‘Drink up, darling, drink up quickly!’).
