The characters

Alfred Kropp: Alfred Kropp is a fifteen-year-old boy with (as Alfred said) a watermelon-sized head. He lives with his Uncle Farrell because of Alfred's mother's death from cancer and because of his father's disappearance. He has a tough life in and out of school because he has no friends and plays on second string right guard in football (or as Alfred said, the dummy for the first string defense)
