Character Bio

ORIGIN: Alfred grew up in England where he decided to go against the family tradition of acting and follow his father's footsteps as a butler. According to the movie Batman Forever, he even served in Buckingham Palace for part of his career. It was his move to Gotham City, however, that made him finally feel at home when he accepted the position as the butler of millionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. After the couple was gunned down in an alley in front of their child, Bruce, Alfred assisted the child's new guardian, Leslie Thompkins, in bringing him up.

After spending several years around the globe learning from the finest teachers in the world, Bruce Wayne returned to Wayne Manor, which Alfred continued to maintain. Bruce then revealed his plan to become a vigilante called Batman. Though not entirely happy with the idea, Alfred supported the young man who would soon become Gotham's greatest hero. Since then, Alfred has continued to be a loyal confidant, maintaining all of the high-tech equipment in the Batcave as if he were dusting upstairs in Wayne Manor.

OCCUPATION: Loyal butler of Bruce Wayne

FAMILY: A brother named Wilfred and a niece named Daphne. In movie continuity, his niece Barbara Wilson would become Batgirl.

AMBITIONS: To do all he can to please "Master Bruce."
