Algae Bioreactors

A promising branch of bio-engineering is the development of Algae Bioreactors.

These are artificial or hybrid forms of algae bred to photosynthesize carbon dioxide into oxygen. By introducing algae blooms into industrial ponds, it is hoped industry can reduce its carbon footprint.

Pioneering work is being conducted in the field by the Alberta Research Council in Alberta, Canada.
