Ali Hussain Kafi (Arabic: علي حسين كافي‎, born October 7, 1928)[1] was chairman of the High Council of State (a military-backed collective presidency) of Algeria from July 2, 1992 to January 31, 1994. He was selected as chairman four days after the death of Muhammad Boudiaf.

The Council of State was intended as a transitional government. In 1992, he promised a referendum that eventually never took place.
