Biography

Following Nelly's breakthrough in 2001, one of his fellow group members in the St. Lunatics, Ali, signed with Nelly's label Universal. That same year, Ali introduced himself to the masses on the debut St. Lunatics album, Free City (also released by Universal), and returned shortly after with his debut album in early 2002. Ali Jones (born July 13, 1971), better known by his stage name Ali is an American rapper and member of the hip hop group St. Lunatics.

Career

Ali was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He formed the St. Louis rap group the St. Lunatics, joining Nelly, Murphy Lee, Kyjuan and City Spud. Since then Ali has appeared on every Nelly album except Suit (2004). He is also the president of Nelly's record label, Derrty Entertainment. Ali released a solo studio album, Heavy Starch, in 2002. As Ali & Gipp he released Kinfolk on August 14, 2007 with Big Gipp of the Dungeon Family's Goodie Mob. He is now working on the St. Lunatics' second studio album, entitled City Free due for release Fall 2010.

Personal life

Ali was arrested in Hazelwood, Missouri on October 14, 2006 for assault and property damage after he was stopped for driving with an expired license.[1]

Ali has 4 children: Ashley Jones (1992), Ali K. Jones Jr. (1995), Heaven-Li Jones (2001), and Wisdom Jones (2009).

In 2010 Ali gota divorce from his wife Lillian Jones. He since re-married to Ashley Nichols. They currently live in Saint Louis, Missouri.
