Alien Act
A restriction passed in 1918, after U.S. entry into World War I, that mandated the deportation of any alien who was a proven member of an anarchist organization upon entering the United States. It allowed for the prosecution of aliens through an administrative process and was an attempt to control public discourse during the war.
