Plot

Via a meticulously-selected combination of outer space footage, state-of-the-art CG graphics and informed scientific discussion, the History Channel documentary series The Universe investigates various aspects of the cosmos, with each episode devoted to one particular subtopic. The episode entitled "Alien Galaxies" rests on the assertion that because the Milky Way represents one of hundreds of billions of galaxies, the odds of mankind (and Earth's animal species) being the only life forms in the universe are second to none. The program speculates on Alien Galaxies via a look through the Hubble Space Telescope, then jumps back in time, billions of years, to study the Big Bang. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
