Holy moly, is Alien Warrior one hilarious mix of super-sexual '80s sleaze and ultra-violent sci-fi schlock. Starting off with budget effects reminiscent of Lou Ferrigno's Hercules flicks, this golden bit of delirious entertainment moves from space straight to the ghetto, where the alien hero hits Earth and immediately encounters his arch-nemesis pimp, Mr. 1, for the first time. Apparently, beefy beings from outer space come with perfectly coiffed chest and facial hair, as evidenced with Brett Baxter Clark's brilliant portrayal of Buddy, the six-foot-plus mountain of a man who befriends the homeless and cures cancer patients with the touch of his beard (for real!). Featuring scene after scene of delightfully daring incompetence, the flick is one of those rare bad movies that delivers the goods every step of the way. From scenes of building a space car out of old car parts to the main villain running the streets in underwear and an uzi, this flick has it all. There's no end to the flick's power, or Buddy's either, who in his greatest moment busts through a wall in slow-mo to take out a serial killer with a penchant for torturing nude, '80s valley girls with power tools. Apparently the filmmakers weren't happy until they threw in a breakdancing scene, which makes sense within the grand scheme of Alien Warrior -- truly a special film of its time that continues to confound and entertain kitsch-loving audiences decades later. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
