Alissa Moreno was born on a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. She developed a passion for music when she began playing violin at the age of 2. As a teen, she moved to Kona, Hawaii to spend time with her grandfather, Bob Moreno. An established musician, Bob guided and encouraged her as she developed her piano, guitar, and vocal skills. Over the following years, she moved to Los Angeles and became both a successful artist and an accomplished songwriter.
In 2008, Alissa’s debut album, “In Your Wake,” was released on her own label, Pi Records. It has already sold over 10,000 copies. Her first single, “Far From Here,” is playing on Hot A/C, AAA and college radio stations across the U.S. It was also licensed as the theme song for the Lifetime hit “Army Wives.” Alissa’s music has been placed in numerous film and television projects including MTV’s hit series “The Hills,” “Laguna Beach,” and “Newport Harbor,” ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars,” Fox’s “Wonderfalls,” NBC’s “Will & Grace,” CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother,” ABC Family’s “Greek,” and soaps “Guiding Light,” “General Hospital,” and “Days Of Our Lives,” among others. Her song “Next Time” was also added to the Interscope Records soundtrack release “Laguna Beach- Summer Can Last Forever.”
As a Universal Music Publishing songwriter, Alissa penned the chart-topping hit “Every Day” for Rascal Flatts. The song went to 2 on the country charts and was nominated for a Grammy. She has collaborated with noteworthy music industry veterans including Jeffrey Steele (Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill), Brett James (Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride), Chas Sandford (John Waite, Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart), Big Al Anderson (Tim McGraw, Vince Gill), Jamie Houston (Kid Rock, Macy Gray, Santana, Bo Bice), Beau Dozier (Joss Stone), Kevin Hunter (Sheryl Crow), Luke Laird (Carrie Underwood), composer John Swihart ("Napoleon Dynamite"), and David Baerwald (Sheryl Crow). She has co-written with accomplished recording artists such as JoJo, Vertical Horizon, Fastball, Colbie Caillat, Chuck Wicks, and Javier. Alissa also co-wrote and co-performed the theme song for the ABC hit series “Hope and Faith.”
Alissa is a renowned piano and vocal talent, having worked on the set of "Hollywoodland" (Focus Features 2006) as vocal coach to Ben Affleck. She is also an actress, appearing in commercials and indie films. She created and starred in the short film “Superchicks,” which was honored at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. Alissa currently divides her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, and can be seen performing live around the world.
