Aljunied MRT Station (EW9) is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit station on the East West Line in Singapore. It serves the urban neighbourhood of Aljunied. Its livery is blue.

History
From the start, Aljunied MRT Station had no physical barriers between the platforms and tracks. In view of many incidents over the years, the Land Transport Authority made the decision in 2008 to install half height platform screen doors for all above-ground stations in phases which is currently operational on Feb 11 2011.[1]
2009 track incursion
On June 26, 2009, train services along the East West MRT line were disrupted for almost 18 minutes at about 7.25pm after a man jumped off the platform and ran towards Paya Lebar MRT Station. However, SMRT staff did not manage to find the man.
The Chinese man in his 40s found his way down the tracks to the street but was later arrested by the police. He sustained leg injuries and was charged with attempted suicide.[2]
