Review

Miami's Know the Score play hardcore like Ronald Reagan's still in the White House and no one knows what the heck an Internet is. At 11 songs in just barely 13 minutes, All Guts, No Glory is textbook old-school hardcore, with songs that explode into one spittle-flecked rage after another with barely time to catch a breath in between. Song titles like "Red Sox Nation, My Ass" and "Ex-Members of I Don't Give a Fuck" show a healthy disrespect for various elements of popular culture, but most of the album is what used to be called "small-p political" punk, inchoate rants that are cathartic without being particularly coherent. This is the good stuff, the sort of hardcore punk record that it seems like nobody makes anymore. ~ Stewart Mason, Rovi
