This is a 16-track compilation of familiar Tony Bennett performances from his initial sojourn at Columbia Records, 1950-1972, including such hits as "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," "I Wanna Be Around," "Because Of You," and "Stranger In Paradise," leased from Columbia by a discount label. It's a bare-bones approach with a miscellaneous feel (especially in the way it jumps from the more mature, deeper-voiced Bennett to the earlier operatic tenor and back), but assuming you find it at a low price, it provides the most basic introduction to Tony Bennett. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
