Review

Public Announcement had been around for years in various incarnations, including one that featured R. Kelly, before they had the opportunity to record their debut album, All Work, No Play. Fueled by the infectious single "Body Bumpin' (Yippie-Yi-Yo)," the album is an energetic set of up-tempo urban R&B with a distinct hip-hop influence. The group has enough energy to keep the record moving over the dull moments, but their songwriting rarely yields anything as memorable as "Body Bumpin'." Nevertheless, that single is so strong, it indicates that the group could have a bright future, if they had just a few more hooks and a little more discipline. ~ Leo Stanley, All Music Guide
