Plot

Allo, Allo, Carnaval was filmed in Brazil, but Spanish, not Portuguese, is the language heard on the soundtrack. The film, part of a semi-annual series, is little more than a parade of popular South American radio entertainers. The near-nonexistent storyline is tied in with the celebrated Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, which would also figure prominently in Orson Welles' unfinished It's All True and Disney's Saludos Amigos. The only recognizable face in film (to North American audiences at least) is "Brazilian Bombshell" Carmen Miranda, here performing with her sisters. Allo, Allo, Carnaval is tackily produced but undeniably energetic. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
