alloy-junction transistor
(′a′löi ¦jəŋk·shən tranz′is·tər)
(electronics) A junction transistor made by placing pellets of a p-type impurity such as indium above and below an n-type wafer of germanium, then heating until the impurity alloys with the germanium to give a pnp transistor. Also known as fused-junction transistor.
