Almonte (originally, Bay Junction;^[2] until 1912, Mill Valley Junction^[1]) is an unincorporated community in Marin County, California.^[1] It is located on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad 6 miles (9.7 km) south of downtown San Rafael,^[2] at an elevation of 20 feet (6 m).^[1]
