Alon Stein (Hebrew: אלון שטיין; born January 4, 1978) is a German-Israeli basketball player who plays the guard position.[1] He plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv.[1][2]
Stein was born in Hadera, Israel.[1] In high school, when he was 14 years old he scored scored 60 points at an eighth-grade State Youth Cup final in Ussishkin in 1992.[2][3] He played for the Israeli U22 National Team in 1996–98, alongside Oded Kattash.[1][3]
He has played for Hapoel Galil Elyon (1995–99; joining when he was 17 years old), Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin (1999–2000), Hapoel Galil Elyon (2000–01), Hapoel Tel Aviv (2001–02), ratiopharm Ulm (Germany-2Bundesliga) (2002–03), Geneve Devils (Switzerland-LNA) (2003–04), Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (Germany-1.Bundesliga) (2004–06), Geneve Devils (2006–07), MyGuide Amsterdam (Holland-Eredivisie) and Hapoel Beeri (2007–08), Elitzur Yavne (2008–09), and Lugano Tigers (Switzerland-LNA) (2010–11).[1][2][2][3]
He joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2011.[2]
