Alone III: The Pinkerton Years is a compilation album by Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo that was released December 12, 2011, at the same time as the Pinkerton Diaries.[2] It is the third album in Cuomo's Alone series, preceded by Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo and Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo. It consists of songs recorded between 1993 and 1996, which Cuomo considers "the Pinkerton years."
Cuomo originally speculated that Alone III: The Pinkerton Years would be released in December 2010, though that release date was not met.[3] He also noted that the album would be released at the same time as a book titled The Pinkerton Diaries containing journals, emails, letters and articles written by Cuomo. Cuomo also noted his plans to release Alone IV, Alone V, and Alone VI.[3]
All songs written by Rivers Cuomo, otherwise noted.
