Biography

Hungarian composer and military bandmaster. Czibulka's compositions include operettas, dance music and salon music. His favorite form was the dance and he wrote the popular "Stephanie-Gavotte". His piano playing took him to Russia, Innsbruck, Trieste and Vienna. When Sullivan's "Yeoman of the Guard" and "The Gondoliers" were performed in Germany, Czibulka arranged dances from their musical ideas. ~ Keith Johnson, Rovi
