Marketing Dictionary: alternate-bundles run

Method used in newspaper or magazine advertising whereby two different versions of an advertiser's message are printed in separate phases of a press run and then alternately commingled when bundled for circulation delivery. Since bundles are distributed in the same geographic area, the method is used to test the effectiveness of one message against the other. See also selective binding; split run.
