The Altman Self-Rating Mania Scale (abbreviated ASRM) is a five-item self-reported diagnostic scale to assess the level of mania and hypomania symptoms for patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder.[1] The ASRM scale is an effective self-reported questionnaire for screening patients with acute mania as well as measuring anti-manic treatment effects.[2][3]
Five items of the Altman Self-Rating Mania Scale assess the changes in five mental functions, disturbed in manic or hypomanic condition: mood, self-confidence, sleep, talking, and activity.
