Alv Erlingsson
Alv Erlingsson was a Norwegian baron born around 1190 in
Tornberg, Norderhov, Buskerud. He married IgnebΦrg Baardsdotter in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway in 1221. It is said he was a favorite of the Queen,
yet committed countless acts of piracy throughout his life including seizing and robbing
German vessels, making an attack on Duke Håkon, the younger
brother of the Norwegian king, and attacking Denmark. Alv Erlingsson was eventually exiled for
his acts. He was said to have died in 1250.
