Biography

American actress Amanda Wyss has been active since the early '80s. Wyss started out with teenaged supporting roles in such efforts as Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1981) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). On a more adult level, she made an excellent impression as an imperiled homesteader in the 1985 "retro" Western Silverado. Wyss was born in Manhattan Beach, California.

Movie career

Discovered by an agent as a teen while starring in the play The Bad Seed at a local Los Angeles theatre, she went on to work in commercials and landed her first television role, recurring on Universal's When the Whistle Blows (1980) as Dolph Sweet's daughter.

Some of her most memorable film performances were in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) as Tina Gray (who was the first person murdered onscreen by Freddy Krueger),[1] in the 1985 comedy film Better Off Dead as Beth, Silverado (1985) and the award-winning, Powwow Highway (1989). She was also in Prom Night in 1980 as the girl in the bathroom. She is special guest of the Crypticon 2010.[2]

Television career

Wyss starred in Season 1 of the fantasy television series Highlander: The Series as a reporter named Randi McFarland. She has had recurring roles on St. Elsewhere (1982) and Cagney & Lacey (1982). She has made guest appearances on television shows, including Charmed, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Cheers (Season 4 episode 2, and Season 5 episode 11), The Drew Carey Show, Cold Case, CSI: Las Vegas, and Dexter.[3]

Personal life

Wyss currently lives in Los Angeles.
