The Amarkantak super fast Express(12853/12854) is a daily superfast express train which runs between Bhopal Junction railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Durg, a small town in Chhattisgarh. The train has replaced the old 8225/8226 Bhopal - Bilaspur Mahanadi Express along with 8291/8292 Bhopal - Raipur Express and 1235/1236 Bhopal - Jabalpur Express. The name Amarkantak signifies the name of the city Amarkantak, which is an originating spot of largest river in Central India called Narmada.
