AMB Financial is the holding company for American Savings, a thrift serving Lake County, Indiana, near the southern tip of Lake Michigan. Catering to families and local businesses, the bank offers checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, certificates of deposit, and IRAs. It mainly uses these deposit funds to originate real estate, construction, consumer, commercial, land, credit card, and other loans. One- to four-family residential mortgages account for approximately two-thirds of its loan portfolio. American Savings also offers investment services. It operates three offices in Dyer, Hammond, and Munster, Indiana and opened a fourth location in nearby Schererville in 2007.
