A former pupil of Bridgewater School Worsely, Amber showed a passion for acting since she was young, becoming a member of the Octagon Youth Theatre and the Wigan Little Theatre.
Hodgkiss' career began professionally when she was cast as Eleanor Smith in Grange Hill in 2003. She played this character for 3 years. In 2008 she then went on to play the guest lead role in Doctors. She played Kyla Miles. She also starred as Sophie in Proper Messy, a programme for BBC Switch in 2009. In the same year she was cast as Vicky in the feature film The Spell, by director Owen Carey Jones.[1]
In 2009 she was cast as Chrissie in Hollyoaks but after several months filming the story line was pulled, (it was seen as too controversial) and never made it on screen. She was recast as Caroline and went on to play that until March 2010.
In 2010 she played Emma in Bedlam a Red Production for Living Television and the role of Simone in the feature film Rough & Ready I.[2] [3] [4]
