Plot

A&E takes this opportunity to visit some of the finest homes in Texas, and allows viewers to see some of the antiques and art work they contain. The Governor's mansion, located in Austin, was built using Richard H. Payne's architectural plans. It includes the handsome Sam Houston bedroom and an outdoor garden area complete with brick walkways, an arbor, a colonnade, and a reflecting pool. The next stop in the program is the McFadden-Ward House built by the wealthy oil and gas magnate W.P.H. McFadden. Also featured is Bayou Bend, the mansion designed by architect John F. Staub for the Hogg family. ~ Elizabeth Smith, Rovi
