Plot

Find out why this railroad is affectionately nicknamed "The Skunk Train." The train travels 40 miles across beautiful parts of northern California. Travelers describe the experience of seeing the big redwood trees for the first time and the mountain meadows that seem to extend almost endlessly. Learn more about some of the vintage equipment that still runs on this line. This train journeys between Fort Bragg on the coast and the inland valley town of Willits, a route it has been taking for over 100 years.
