America's Next Top Model, Cycle 18 (also known as America's Next Top Model: British Invasion) is the eighteenth "cycle," or season, of America's Next Top Model, airing on The CW Network (The CW). The cycle premiered on February 29, 2012 and occupied the time slot of the final two scheduled episodes of Remodeled.[1] America's Next Top Model Cycle 18 features fourteen models, placing 7 British models who have competed in previous cycles of Britain's Next Top Model alongside 7 all-new American model hopefuls in an overall competition.[1]

The Express fashion campaign (present in the last Cycle) has been removed.
The international destinations for this cycle were Toronto, Canada (for one episode) and the Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong in China. This is the second time the show has traveled to China; Shanghai and Beijing were visited in Cycle 9. This is also the first time the show has traveled to more than one country during a season.
This is the first American edition of Top Model to be filmed and broadcast in high definition (HD)[3] and fashion industry public relations maven Kelly Cutrone has replaced Vogue editor André Leon Talley in the role of judge (there has been speculation in the media that Talley was fired by Tyra Banks)[4] - the rest of the judging panel remains the same.[1] Also, it has been revealed that Jay Manuel, J. Alexander, and Nigel Barker were no longer continue after cycle 18.[5]
The promotional song for this cycle is Engerland (Fabio The Daddyo) by Blues Saraceno.
The winner was 21 year-old British model Sophie Sumner from Oxford, England, making her the first ever non-American winner of America's Next Top Model.

The 18th season of America's Next Top Model has been subtitled "British Invasion", and features seven contestants from previous cycles of Britain's Next Top Model for a second chance to win the title. Cycles 1 and 7 are unrepresented, Cycles 2, 3, 4, and 6 are each represented by one contestant, and Cycle 5 is represented by three contestants.

The competition starts at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood, seven new models from America finding out that they would battle against previous contestants from Britain's Next Top Model. The culture clash begins with a fashion parade with the models on top of a float. The American girls receive love from their fans, while the British girls are welcomed by silence from the crowd. After the parade, the models take part in a runway challenge with Michael Buffer as the announcer. Candace makes a rude statement towards Ashley, while Jasmia throws her jacket at AzMarie's face.
After the show, the girls arrive at their new home. The American girls begin swimming naked in the pool mostly Laura and AzMarie, which irritates some of the British girls, who wanted to talk and get to know them.
The very first photo shoot had the girls portraying American and British public figures while jumping on a trampoline, with sixty cameras capturing them in a 3D shot.

The last group, Seymone and Sophie got the most praise, with Kyle, Catherine and Laura also praised. Alisha breaks down into tears, Jasmia and Mariah fall flat, while Ashley is scolded for thinking beyond the shot.
At panel, Tyra states that although she is American,[6] she would be unbiased towards judging the girls in the competition. Catherine, Kyle, Laura, Seymone and Sophie receive praise, while Ashley and Jasmia find themselves in the bottom two. Tyra hands the last photograph to Ashley, resulting in Jasmia's elimination.

The remaining thirteen girls are given their makeovers at Sally Hershberger's salon. Some of the American girls don't receive a massive change with the exception of Laura and AzMarie. Most of the British girls receive makeovers that lead to their meltdown, especially Louise, who has very dismayed with her makeover. Meanwhile, Eboni is burned with a curling iron upon the completion of her makeover.

The following day, the models have an eating challenge where they have to eat some delicacies from the other team's nation. (including haggis, marmite, grits, chitterlings, blood pudding, pig's feet, and peanut butter). Candace irritates Seymone when she jokes about Seymone eating haggis all by herself.
For the photo shoot, the girls have to pose as toddlers in groups, with Kris Jenner posing as their "mother" and her real-life daughters Kendall and Kylie posing as their sisters.

Some of the girls stood out on their session. The judges deemed that UK girls outperforming US girls in every shots they appear. Seymone looks 'pretty' in her shot, while Mariah is castigated for being too sexy. AzMarie struggles as she tries to get into character and the fact she's outshined by Ashley, but she ended up looks creepy.
At the panel, Catherine, Ashley, Laura and Eboni got all praise, for being stand-out, while Mariah and Seymone find themselves in the bottom two. Mariah for being unmemorable, and Seymone for falling behind in the competition drastically, which Tyra calls 'beginners luck'. Ultimately, Tyra hands the last photograph to Seymone whose personality saves her, while Mariah becomes the first American girl to leave the competition.

After the elimination of the previous episode, The British girls pull a prank on Seymone by throwing paper balls at her while she sleeps, which leads to a clash between Seymone and the British girls. The next morning, Tyra visits the girls to teach and gives them their super model powers or their "Intoxibella" powers from her book Modelland. Later, she also speaks to the girls about the 'Super Mogul' which is about being a businesswoman or having other jobs related to modeling.

Later, the girls meet Kelly Cutrone for their photo shoot, which is an ad campaign for very.com. The girls are divided into two groups - British, and American. They assign themselves a concept for the photo shoot, a leader for the group, wardrobe, hair and make-up, props, and castings for male models which are done via Virgin Mobile Phone.

At the photo shoot, Candace struggles to give more expression with her face, while Eboni fails to sell the dress. Ashley looks 'disgusted' in her session, while Louise blames Annaliese for not acting as a leader, and for wasting time. Louise is castigated by Kelly when she attempts to do things all by herself. After the photo shoot, the models are allowed to choose their final photo. Back at the house, the British girls discuss Annaliese's disorganized leadership.
At the panel, most of the British girls receive more praise, in particular Sophie and Catherine, with exception of Alisha and Ashley. Louise also receives praise for her photo at judging, but the judges begin to comment on her attitude, which angers Louise and causes her to walk out of set and quit the competition. AzMarie receives first call-out. Louise's name is called during the elimination ceremony, and Tyra reveals to the remaining contestants that she would have remained in the competition had she not left on her own accord. Alisha, Ashley, Candace, & Eboni are called forward as the bottom four, all of whom were not liked by the client. Ultimately, Tyra hands the girls a single sheet with all four of their photographs and decides to not send any of them home.

After Louise's emotional exit, the British girls become emotionally troubled. Eboni releases the anger she feels about her brand, which she feels she can't portray. She verbally attacks Kyle, when she complains about Kyle's shot at panel. This leads to tension between the two girls. The contestants are later introduced to Martin Lindstrom for their challenge, which is to present and sell a fictional product while remaining true to their brands.

The judges for the challenge are a group of regular people chosen off the streets of Los Angeles. Annaliese and Sophie receive good feedback, while Eboni is castigated for coming across as a "know-it-all". Kyle receives good feedback from the crowd, which angers some of the girls, who had thought her commercial was lackluster. Eboni and Alisha continue to attack Kyle, which pushes to her limits and makes her consider leaving the competition. Annaliese ultimately wins the reward challenge, and wins the prize with the British girls.
For the photo shoot, the girls are taken to the Los Angeles River, where they pose on vintage American cars while wearing hats by the British designer Philip Treacy. Most of the girls receive good feedback and do generally well, while Sophie, Seymone, and Candace struggle during the shoot.
At panel, AzMarie, Laura, and Kyle receive strong praise for their photos. Kyle is reprimanded for not looking like model, despite photographing like one. After three strong weeks Sophie finally delivered something mediocre, but Seymone and Candace ultimately find themselves to the bottom two for their mediocre photographs. Seymone is saved once more, and Candace is eliminated from the competition. Before she leaves, Candace points out the fact that Kyle wanted to leave, despite not mentioning her name.

The remaining models are informed that they will go to Toronto for the LG Fashion Week. The models undergo several castings for the fashion show. Most of the girls book the shows, with the exception of Ashley, Catherine and Seymone who do not book any. Eboni and Sophie win the reward challenge for booking the most shows, and walk well in the fashion show. Even though Kyle and Laura originally book the Pink Tartan fashion show, they are cut from the show, because they are seen as inexperienced.

For the photo shoot, the girls are covered with maple syrup and leaves. Laura becomes emotional due to the death of one of her close friends prior to the competition.
The girls fly back to Los Angeles for panel, and most of the praise goes to the U.S. girls. Sophie is the only UK girl that received praise, but while her photo is also praised, Catherine breaks down to tears for not booking any of the shows. Eboni's photograph earns her first call-out, while Ashley and Catherine land in the bottom two for not having booked any of the castings. Catherine is ultimately saved due to the sheer strength of her photograph, while Ashley is eliminated from the competition despite her endearing personality.

In the beginning of the episode, some of the girls throw accidentally rip Laura's teddy bear, which was given to her by her deceased friend Kevin, and throw its ear into a swimming pool. In an attempt to retrieve it, Kyle accidentally pushes the bear ear away from her, which angers Laura. Later, All-Star winner Lisa D'Amato informs the models that they will have to perform in a group music video.

At the recording studio, the UK girls do substantially better that the US contestants. Later, Tyra teaches the girls about the different types of "Booty Tooch". AzMarie refuses to participate in the lesson by not wearing the "tooch pants"
During the filming of the music videos, the British contestants excel, while the American girls fail to work as a team. Most notably Kyle, who pulls down the performance of her teammates, and AzMarie who is castigated for her bad attitude on set.
At panel, all of the British girls receive good feedback, with Sophie and Alisha as the frontrunners, and Alisha earns first call-out during the elimination ceremony, making her the first British girl to receive a first call-out. She is quickly followed by Sophie, Catherine and Annaliese. Most of the American models receive mixed feedback from the judges, but it is Kyle and AzMarie who ultimately land in the bottom two. AzMarie is reprimanded for being overconfident, while Kyle is told that she doesn't own her "model look". Tyra hands the last screen-grab to Kyle, thus eliminating AzMarie from the competition.

After the elimination, Laura was still furious with Kyle. For the challenge, the models were separated into teams of two (UK vs US) where they to shoot a anti-bullying commercial for Tyra's B.I.O. campaign. Later, they were introduced to their partners, who turn out to be bullied girls. Alisha got emotional with her partner Anahi because of her story. The Brits won the challenge and won a reward of a video message from their love ones via Virgin Mobile Phone. Sophie got irritated to her boyfriend's emotionless message.

For the photo shoot, the models pose as an art installation at a dinner party with guest star Estelle while booty tooching. Alisha, Catherine, and Kyle struggle with the shoot. Some of the girls were irritated with Kyle for getting a butt pad while the rest of the models had to tooch on their own. During judging, the judges praised some shots, and strongly disliked others. Sophie finally received the first call-out for her stunning shot, after weeks being called in the top three. Alisha and Kyle landed in the bottom two for their performance in the shoot. Alisha is told she has the model look, and has talent while in motion, but she fails to translate her beauty into her pictures. Kyle is told she also has strong look, and while she started the competition strong, she had been declining in the past few weeks. Tyra hands the photo to Alisha, and Kyle is sent home.

Most of the girls (especially Laura) were happy due to the elimination of Kyle. The girls were sent to the Beverly Hills Hotel where they met with Kelly Cutrone and announced that they will do castings for the Dorchester collection. Alisha, Annaliese and Sophie were chosen to open for a fashion show collection. Catherine slipped during rehearsals while Seymone got irritated by her feedbacks. Anndra Neen which was opened by Alisha won the Collection.

For the week's photo shoot, the remaining girls wear heavy couture dresses made of Hello Kitty-themed accessories designed by Francis Libiran. Sophie wowed the photographer and Jay, but all the U.S. girls struggled with the shoot. Laura was castigated for her overly sexy poses, Eboni looked stiff, and Seymone was slated for her constant complaining.
At panel, Alisha was praised for her photo and her performance and received the first call-out. Most of the other girls receive mixed feedback. Eboni and Seymone landed in the bottom two; Eboni for not selling her given brand and Seymone for not taking the competition seriously. Eboni was saved and Seymone was sent home.

The American team started to dwindled down after Seymone's elimination. Laura admitted to Eboni that she doesn't like her. Nigel surprised the girls with some Chinese food and told them that they will go to Macau for the remainder of the competition. After arriving in Macau, Alisha got irritated with Sophie because she messed with her clothes.
Then the girls received their fortunes and auras from Chinese astrologer Clement Chan and his students. After the session, they were instructed to recreate their aura by fashion. Laura won the challenge and shared her prize with her co-American model Eboni, which is a massage at MGM Six Sense Spa.
For the photo shoot, the girls will pose with silk gowns by Barney Cheng accessorized with silkworms. Sophie nailed it once again, with Laura and Annaliese also received good feedback. At the panel, Laura received the first call-out for her stunning photograph. Though Sophie did many variation of poses, in the end Tyra choose her best photo with her legs are entirely cropped out by the dress. Alisha and Catherine landed in the bottom two, Alisha for making the gown look cheaper and Catherine for being weak. Alisha was saved and Catherine was sent home.

The house was divided with Alisha and Eboni both despising Laura. The girls were taken to Hong Kong where they meet Nicholas Tse, who teaches them some basic martial arts in preparation for their challenge. At the challenge, each girl takes a motion shot with lines given to them to deliver. Laura won the challenge and won an opportunity to star in a video with Nicholas Tse back in Hong Kong. After the challenge, the girls joke that Laura seduced Nicholas. Eboni added that Laura is sleeping her way to the top, which angered Laura.
At the photo shoot, the girls pose atop the Macau Tower (with harnesses that are later edited out of the photos), where they have to deal with the rain and wind. Sophie and Alisha struggled with their fear of heights. At panel, Alisha and Eboni were criticized for their lackluster photos, while Annaliese was compared to Mercedes Scelba-Shorte from Cycle 2 for being a presenter rather than a fashion model, but still making it far. Laura was praised for not letting anything come down to her nerves, while Sophie was commended for facing her fear and producing a stunning photograph.
Laura received her second first call-out in a row, while Alisha and Eboni landed in the bottom two for their relatively weak performance throughout the competition despite having strong potential. Tyra called Alisha's name, thus eliminating Eboni, but in a shocking turn of events, Alisha immediately opted to quit the competition. Alisha explained that she felt she was taking the opportunity away from girls who deserved it more than her and that she had lost her spirit. Tyra allows Alisha to leave, but she still eliminates Eboni.

The final three head to Hong Kong and are welcomed by Kelly Cutrone for their go-sees, where they can earn one thousand Hong Kong dollars for each go-see booked. They each select their own male models that will help guide them through the city. Laura was castigated mainly on her runway walk, Annaliese received mixed feedback from the designers, while Sophie was liked by almost all of the designers and ultimately won the challenge. They celebrated through the night together with their companions.
For the photo shoot, the remaining girls pose inside a life-sized bottle for a youth-themed "Dream Come True" campaign, with Ben Bennett as their client. Sophie impressed the client and Mr. Jay with her shoot, while Laura struggled to look soft and sweet, and Annaliese looked stiff and did not bring her personality to the shoot.
At panel, Sophie easily received the first call-out for her outstanding performance at the go-see challenge and her perfect photograph. Annaliese and Laura landed in the bottom two for the first time; Annaliese for being a presenter rather than a model despite improving immensely throughout the competition, and Laura for her runway walk and photograph, which came across as sexy rather than sweet and dreamy. In the end, Tyra handed the last photo to Laura and eliminated Annaliese.

The finalist shoot their CoverGirl Blast Flipstick Commercial and Photo, Some of the clips were taken throughout their journey in the competition. Laura struggled in the shoot and suffered from Panic attack and was taken to the hospital. Valentina Serra welcome the girls for their photo shoot in Vogue Italia, Sophie struggled while Laura shone and impresses the clients.
Tyra visited the girls in the house to interview both of them, Laura with her struggle to her life and Sophie for her stand in the competition.
In the final runway, For the first time, the girls will participate in a holographic runway show for Forever 21 together with the eliminated girls where they have to walk in sync and in timing. Both of the girls impressed the judges.
During the deliberation, Laura was castigated to her CoverGirl photo but retrieve gerself to her commercial with her candid moments, while Sophie excelled more in the photo rather than in the commercial. At the deliberation, Laura's rebel personality and Sophie's bright presence was both praised. After the deliberation, Sophie was named as the eighteenth winner of America's Next Top Model and making her the first non-American winner of the show.
