Plot

This program is part of the popular HBO series America Undercover. This episode chronicles some major events of the 20th century, which saw advances in science and technology that revolutionized the ways people live in industrialized societies. Everything from ice cream to reading at night was made possible by electricity. Unprecedented freedom of movement resulted from the development of the automobile. These changes and others exemplify the zeitgeist of the times.
