Review

Tenor-saxophonist Dexter Gordon's final album (not counting his work on the film Round Midnight) is a decent effort if not all that notable. Gordon is assisted by Grover Washington, Jr. (who makes some guest appearances on soprano), pianist Kirk Lightsey, organist Shirley Scott, bassist David Eubanks and drummer Eddie Gladden, sounding best on "Besame Mucho" and "Skylark." Worth picking up but not that essential. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
