American Constitution Party

The American Constitution Party was originally formed as the American Tax Payers Union in 1991. It is now the Colorado affiliate of the national party known as the Constitution Party and is based in Arvada. The Constitution Party is a loose affiliation of state parties that fall under the national party umbrella.

Their current slogan is "Principles over Politics." According to the national organization's platform page "The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries."^[1]

• Leslie Hanks, former Lieutenant Governor candidate and current President of Colorado Right To Life
• Tim Leonard, former gubernatorial candidate and current President of the Colorado Home Educators Council
• Douglas Campbell, former senatorial candidate, former Lieutenant Governor candidate and also former State Chairman for the party
• Benjamin David Goss, 2010 gubernatorial candidate who stepped aside for Congressman Tom Tancredo's run as the party's 2010 gubernatorial candidate
• Former Congressman Tom Tancredo, whose brief stint with the party as its gubernatorial candidate, prior to his return to the Republican Party just two months after his failed run, resulted in the party becoming the first new major party in Colorado in more than 130 years
