No figure stands taller in the annals of college football than legendary Notre Dame coach, Knute Rockne. This program tells the story of the man behind the myth. An early master of the media, Rockne used the public communications system to turn college football into the spectacle we know today. The documentary uses film clips to show the coach of the Fighting Irish at his best, on the field and off, including, of course, his most famous speech, "Win one for the Gipper." Using sentimentality and oratory, Rockne inspired a team and a nation.
