American Express Plum Card

The Plum Card is a charge card issued by American Express' OPEN small business division in the fall of 2007. Initially there were to be only 10,000 cards issued. Some of the first 10,000 cardmembers were featured in advertising. In the spring of 2008, additional applications were made available.

The Plum Card offers cardmembers the option of an early pay discount of 1.5%, (to those who pay within ten days of the statement closing date) or a defer payment option that allows you to pay 10% of the new balance by the first please-pay-by date and revolve the remaining balance only until the next please-pay-by date. Cardholders are allowed one extra card fee free, every card thereafter costs $45.[1]

In March 2008, American Express announced to Plum card members the formation of the new Plum Card advisory board. The board will allow cardholders to voice their experiences, share ideas, and interact with other plum members.[2]
