American Geological Institute
The American Geological Institute (AGI) is a nonprofit federation of 44 geoscientific and professional associations. Together, these organizations represent more than 100,000 geologists, geophysicists, and other earth scientists.
The AGI was founded in 1948. The AGI provides information services to earth scientists. It also serves as a voice of shared professional and educational interests. In addition, it serves as a public relations vehicle for the earth sciences. It seeks to increase public knowledge of the role of the earth sciences in protecting and properly managing the use of environmental resources.
The Government Affairs Program at AGI offers summer, fall, and spring internships.
AGI offices are located at 4220 King Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
