American HealthChoice operates medical clinics, makes medical devices, and provides other health related services in the southeastern US. Its AHC Medical Clinics unit owns and operates eight medical clinics in Texas and Tennessee and provides support services to about 35 affiliated clinics. Through its TelmedCo unit, American HealthChoice offers telemedicine services, allowing doctors at its own and third-party clinics to get second opinions from remote specialists. A third unit, RehabCo, has developed the OmniBody Scan medical imaging system, which uses infrared technology to detect breast cancer and other conditions.
