Plot

Popularized in movies like Silence of the Lambs and Seven, FBI techniques for crime investigation are now widely accepted. A&E takes the viewer behind the scenes for a look at the man who started it all in American Justice: Profilers. It makes sense today that detectives would search for hints about killers' identities through tips left at crime scenes. But, when Douglas first started guessing as to the habits and lifestyles of the criminals after studying clues, law enforcement was thrown through a loop. By examining the cases of killers such as Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and David Berkowitz, Douglas developed a system for analyzing evidence. A&E documents the cases that broke as a result of profiling and the current policy of training new recruits in Douglas' investigative system. ~ Sarah Ing, Rovi
