In its day, the Oregon Trail was used by almost half a million people to travel between Missouri and Oregon. Along the way, stories unfolded that shaped the personality of the unclaimed land. American West: The Oregon Trail remembers the pioneers that braved the often hostile territory to start again. Along with vintage photos, reenactments highlight the experience of journeying across the rough country.
