AMLI can provide your FAMLI with the swankiest of pads. AMLI invests in, develops, and manages multifamily residential properties. It has interests in more than 60 upscale apartment complexes containing about 22,000 units. The company also has several properties under development. The firm concentrates its investments in about a dozen markets, including the Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Chicago; Dallas-Fort Worth; Denver; Houston; and Seattle metropolitan areas. AMLI is owned by Morgan Stanley, whose Prime Property Fund acquired the company in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.1 billion in 2006.
